Creative Inspiration Needed?

In a sudden desire to return to a daily art practice and help inspire my art studies, I signed up for the #100DayProject 2021 which began on January 31st, 2021. A free, global art project, this initiative encourages people all around the world to commit to 100 days of creating. The idea is simple, you choose a creative project and share it on-line.

On Instagram, you can follow the #The100DayProject leader @lindsayjeanthomson and if you search the #The100DayProject, you can find and follow other folks participating including myself @siobhan_new_adventures. You may also follow along on Facebook.

My focus is on combining a daily sketch and a gratitude practice. I primarily use black micron technical pens and have my watercolours on hand just in case! I try to restrict myself to 30 minutes as life is busy, but there are times I get so immersed in my subject that more time goes by. It is a wee bit intimidating to post my resulting artworks, but I try to remember this quote:

“Creativity doesn't wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones.” -- Bruce Garrabrandt

Why I wanted to share this with you, is that I am simply amazed by the diversity of creative projects people are posting. Collages out of found materials, a series of face portraits, a daily story, a miniature button book that fits within a matchbook are only a few examples to inspire anyone who wants to explore their creativity.
