MEET THE ARTIST

Siobhan Arnott holds a Fine Arts Diploma from the Ottawa School of Art (OSA), a Masters of Environmental Studies (MES) in Resource Management from the University of Waterloo, and has studied at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. Previously, she spent 25 years working with NGOs, the private and public sectors primarily focused on strengthening resource management policies and Indigenous relations.

Passionate about printmaking, Siobhan’s linocut prints and intaglio etchings, explore the restorative power of nature and the resilience of the human spirit with just a touch of whimsy. Her work is inspired by her European travels and outdoor adventures within Canada’s wilderness. They are a product of her sketches, photographs, research, and life experiences cumulating into images set in the natural environment in which individuals find inspiration and that moment of bravery propelling them forward.

Siobhan is the recipient of the Joan Gullen Award for social justice (i.e. for promoting the arts and wellness) and the Leonard Gerbrandt Printmaking Scholarship. She is represented by the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) Annexe. Several of her distinctive large-scale black and white linocuts may be found in the City of Ottawa’s Art Collection as well as in private collections in the UK and Canada.

While she grew up between Canada and Scotland, Siobhan now resides and works full-time as an artist in Ottawa, with a studio space in her home. Please use the Contact Page to send her a message with questions or to request a commission.
