Finding Wonder: Travel Adventures

Firenze, Italy and the Florence Academy of Art (FAA) hold a special place in my heart. I have studied figure drawing there in July of 2023 and 2024. Then, I had the joy being part of the Masters of Line etching course in July 2026. These photos show me working in the studio, the etchings I created and a background of people I met who have become life long friends.

Andes Ascent is a Jigsaw Linocut of a woman I came across while hiking up Rainbow Mountain in Peru in 2025.

‘Traces of Memory’ is a jigsaw linocut print and embossment inspired by a photo taken in a Scottish fishing village in 2019.

‘The Light of Chania’ is a linocut print of a lovely building I came across during a trip to Crete, Greece in 2023.

‘Solo Adventures: Siena’ is a linocut print of an alleyway discovered during a trip to Italy in 2019.

‘Age of Innocence’ Linocut with photos of me and my close friend Julie in the village Ceres, Scotland where I lived with my grandmother as a child (2025).

‘Past Ruins: Future Hope’ is a linocut of the remnants of a Monastery found on Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh in 2025. It is printed on a collagraph print which was made from the imprint of large leaves.
